Singapore GP launches ‘Fit For Racing’, a fitness initiative that will give fans a look into the fitness side of Formula One drivers. Just as we are gearing up for the Formula One Singapore Airlines Grand Prix 2015 on 20 September 2015, an eight-week video series was released online to showcase the different exercises that F1 drivers do. Led by Paul Haines (an Australian fitness coach who has trained drivers such as Daniel Ricciardo) and Singapore’s only female race driver Claire Jedrek, the videos cover things like core stability, balance, upper and lower body strength.

A ‘Fit for Racing’ challenge will be held on 22 August at the F1 Pit Building from 8.30am and members of the public are welcome to take part for free. Registration is based on a first-come-first-served basis for the first 600 and participants will receive a limited edition Fit For Racing finisher pack.

Participants will go through circuit-style workouts with six challenges that simulate the training plan of an F1 driver, focusing on core stability, balance, upper and lower body strength, conditioning as well as full body muscular endurance. The top 12 male and female finalists will battle it out in the finals that will also test their reactive skills. Winners stand to win over S$24,000 worth of prizes including The Green Room and Grandstand tickets.
