2016 is a special year for me, because I decided to launch Rock The Naked Truth, after coming out of the shadows. It serves as a support community to help people overcome their insecurities and help them love themselves right.
However, along the way, while helping others on their journeys of self-discovery, I realised my own journey was far from complete. Yes, I’ve found peace with my body after 13 years of eating disorders and body abuse, but self-love is much, much more than that.
Self-love is the key to finding your own happiness, without being dependent on others for validation. Self-love is being able to stand on your own feet not just in good times, but especially in bad times. Self-love is recognising that your self-worth is from strength within and not reliant on any external factors.
You need to realise this yourself. Don’t let words of others knock you down, don’t let actions from others keep you down.
I won’t lie – learning to love yourself is going to be one of the hardest things to do in life, but it is not impossible. Dig deep to find the strength from within and you will be surprised at how strong you actually are.
YOU are worth it. YOU can do it. Just do you; find your own happiness.
And don’t let anyone take that away from you.
YOU got this.
