Choo Ling Er, Singapore’s top Ironman triathlete, had both her legs broken in a car accident and had to miss the Ironman 70.3 World Championship which she qualified for – the first time she did so. Although the doctors told her she may not be able to walk properly again – and hence may not be able to race anymore – Ling Er refused to give up and made it back to the same World Championship a year later.
