What do you think of when people talk about recycling? Recycling paper, plastic or glass? In recent years, another pool of recyclable materials is growing rapidly here in Singapore, as we become increasingly tech-savvy and reliant on devices that make our lives more convenient – Electronics!
A group of Final Year Students from Nanyang Technological University’s (NTU) Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI) have launched “Let’s Not Forget About E-Waste” in partnership with StarHub, a campaign to raise awareness about the impact of E-Waste on our environment, and encourage Singaporeans to recycle their E-Waste ranging from mobiles phone, computers to wires, car stereos and even gaming consoles.
As part of the campaign’s activities, they have also teamed up with local celebrities including The Muttons from 987FM and Bobby Tonelli from Class 95 for an E-Waste Bin Design collaboration, and their master pieces will be showcased at the main event – the “Let’s Not Forget About E-Waste” exhibition to be held at Funan DigitaLife mall from 20 – 23 February.
